What You Need!

3 large onions, sliced, separated into rings
2 Tbsp.  butter or margarine
2 cans (10-1/2 oz. each) condensed beef broth
1 Tbsp.  A.1. Original Steak Sauce
1 cup seasoned croutons
1 cup  KRAFT Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese

Make It!

COOK onions in butter in large saucepan on medium heat 10 min. or until golden brown, stirring frequently.

ADD broth, 2 soup cans water and steak sauce. Bring to boil. Simmer on medium-low heat 5 min.

HEAT broiler. Ladle soup into 4 large ovenproof bowls; top with croutons and cheese. Broil 2 to 3 min. or until cheese is melted.

Prepare using KRAFT Shredded Swiss Cheese.

Prepare using reduced-sodium condensed beef broth.
How to Shed No Tears
To avoid crying while peeling or slicing onions, just chill them in the freezer for 10 to 15 min. before slicing. Or, peel the onions under cold running water.

" Although this was easy to make, we were disappointed with the flavor. Perhaps it was my own fault. I used sweet onions and didn't have any croutons. The result was a too sweet and pretty darn boring soup with an odd A1 flavor lingering in the background. I probably won't make this again, but if I do, I'll be sure to have strongly flavored (herb and garlic) croutons and regular yellow onions. "
