i used tomatoes in it as well, yum! i don't use the lemon peel at all though. broccoli instead of peas, there are so many variations for this, and it goes with any meat! this is a favorite of mine!

I omit the onions, and I use canned mushrooms and a small can of peas. One of my favorites!!!

My family loves peas, mushrooms and rice, so I thought this would be a hit, but it came in well below expectations. We were dissapointed and didn't eat more than a few bites before I decided to just toss it out.

Next time I make this dish I will add an additional half cup of chicken stock.
