I used fat-free dressing, and boneless, skinless thighs, doubled the garlic and I did not brown the chicken before putting it in the slow cooker. I put the thighs in the cooker, mixed the remaining ingredients, poured them over the top and let it cook. Awesome! I also used whole wheat linguine instead of the rice. The whole family loved it.

Good dinner, however it needed a little more spice so I added a dash of cayenne pepper and a little salt.

Only thing I would change for next time is to use the boneless chicken. :) Very tasty!

Easy to do. Cooked it with the skin off 4 large thighs. Came out nice and tender and not rubbery. Chicken fell off the bone. Everything blended together for a great taste and not over powering on any one thing. Served over penne and shells. (Just had a little in each box so made them both). Made it twice now, and each time came out great.

This was absolutely better than most Italian restaurants. We served it on penne pasta instead of rice. Just the 2 of us so cut the sauce in half-just right amount.

I've made this recipe many many times. It is healthy, easy and I can make it in the morning and not worry about dinner for the rest of the day.

Been meaning to try chicken cacciatore for a while now. This was pretty darn good, & hubby loved it. Changes I made to the recipe: Tuscan Italian dressing, as that is what I had on hand. Boneless, skinless thighs. Italian style crushed tomatoes, almost doubling the amount called for in the recipe. Used Italian seasoning. I added the mushrooms & peppers, along with one chopped zuchini 1.5 hours before serving (I live at high altitude so the extra time is needed). Served over angel hair pasta. .... My husband tried it with rice, as well as pasta, and says it tastes much better with pasta. My family is not big on green peppers, so will try substituting yellow or orange next time. Very simple and easy.

This recipe was pretty good, but I think we'd like it better with pasta sauce instead of just canned tomatoes with seasonings. It tasted to "tomatoey" and not like we're used to getting at our favorite Italian restaurant. My husband also thought the chicken tasted too bland and need to be seasoned more.
