we really liked this dish, spreading the cream cheese on the bread and then cutting it really helped. made this for a brunch and everyone loved it.

Next time I make this, I would leave off the cream cheese!

Great recipe! Did use recommendation of spreading whipped cream cheese on both sides of bread before cutting into 1/2" squares. Added cinnamon, vanilla and sugar to egg mixture. Response was GREAT - gave out lots of recipes! Leftovers 1-2 days later were even better!

This was easy to make, but I definitely didn't care for the cream cheese. It took away from the flavor. I'll make it again, but minus the cream cheese.

We had this christmas morining it was great. I did change a little. First I used french toast bread(from ralphs) I added cinimmon, nutmeg and vanilla. My family loved it. Leftovers were great the next day.

A friend of mine made this a couple of years ago. Now almost every Christmas it is a tradition for me to make it and bake it at his home while the children are opening their presents. The only thing I do differently is I spread the cream cheese on each slice of bread. Takes time but everybody gets a taste of it instead of one big glob.

It was good, but I thought it needed some vanilla and perhaps some cinnamon to make it taste more like french toast. I will be trying it again but those added ingredients.
