My kids started Kindergarten this year. I had a hard time getting them to eat there lunches. But one day I found a cookie cutter and cut out my daughters sandwich with a couple shapes. I have been cutting out her sandwich ever since. I forgot to cut it out one day and the sandwich came home not touched. She said because she didn't have a heart and star! She gets a heart every day because I love her and then the other half I try to match the season or holiday.

I was having a problem with my five year old only wanting to eat pb&j's for breakfast lunch and dinner and so I got on-line and typed in healthy kid lunches that i could pack her for preschool and this site came up at first I was very scepticle and then i thought what did i have to lose so instead of the jelly and the cream cheese though we have since tried that too and it was awesome too I tried mayo turkey and one slice of kraft cheese and used a cookie cutter to cut it into the shape of a heart and to my disbelief she ate the whole thing and would not quit talking about how good it was so now if I want her to eat something besides pb&j's I have to think out side my liltle box Thank you so much :)

My son, a 2nd grader, loves it when I use cookie cutters to shape his sandwiches! He did admit that he gets embarassed when I use the Heart shaped cutter. It makes me happy when I'm making his lunch to think about the look on his face when he sees what I've done this time!

At some point, each of my three kids have turned up their nose at sandwiches. Somehow using shapes entices them to eat their PB&J or lunchmeat sandwiches. I've found small cookie cutters (1 to 1 1/2") which are easier for toddler fingers. I toss a few into a snack zipper sandwich bag for the little ones. I'd never given them puzzles, though...I always ate the crust. I like the puzzle idea!!

My 5 year old loves her cookie cutter sandwiches! I use different shape cookie cutters and sometimes I do PB&J and other times I use luchmeat and cheese. Great for the little ones!
