Made this receipe for my friends. It was a great hit. No leftovers. I read the reviews prior to making the receipe and found many people suggested adding brown sugar. I made a double batch of the mix and added 1/2 of brown sugar. I loved the mix and will be making it again for Thanksgiving.

This brought back many happy memories of Thanksgivings past. I've always added 1-2Tbs of orange juice concentrate and 1/4 tsp cardamom.

This recipe was a part of my childhood, and now my childrens childhood. We always added raisins, pineapple and homegrown black walnuts.

I actually use pumpkin pie spice for mine. It adds the spices the recipie calls for, and adds some. It's wonderful! Since our family is southern, we always had sweet potatoes in one way or another, but untill I tried it this way I didn't like them. Now I make it ALL the time, and even my kids like it!

Some of you might enjoy using the new OreIdaho frozen sweet potatoes, they are already cooked, just put in the microwave and mash them, it is very good and very fast. Something that demands little effort for a great big taste.
