I added this to my Recipe Book about a year ago but i just got around to trying it now, 12/08. I only regret that I didn't make it sooner. Minimal effort, maximum result. This one was easy and my wife really enjoyed it.

I made a variation of this using ingredients that I have been using in a jello salad recipe for years that always gets rave reviews. I use lemon jello instead of cranberry jello and crushed pineapple instead of oranges. Drain and reserve syrup from 2 8oz cans of pineapple and enough water to make 1 cup, heat mixture to boiling, dissolve jello in hot liquid and cool. Gently stir in a 7oz bottle (or 1 cup) of ginger ale: chill until partially set. While waiting for jello to chill, mix together the crushed pineapple from 1 whole can and 1/2 of the other can and the cranberry sauce. Once jello has chilled, but again, not fully set fold in pineapple and cranberry sauce mixture. Use this as the jello salad layer. Also, I use Dream Whip instead of tub whipped topping.

Wonderful! I even made individual sized crusts & they all turned out awesome. Love the whole berry cranberry addition. Also - I could only find sugar free cranberry jello, but no one seemed to care. :)

This is a great recipe. I am always asked to bring it to family gatherings. This year I was asked to bring it again, and copies of the recipe for other family members.

I have made this recipe several times in the last few years. I have taken it to MIL's house for T-Day twice and it is always gobbled up. Sis doesn't like cranberry anything, but she loves this!!!

This is excellent! I had girls and guys of all ages passing it around at our camp last year and asking for it again!! I even made it at camp! We love it. I do change the jello flavor to cherry.

I forgot to mention that in addition to changing the cranberry sauce, and omitting the mandarin oranges, I used much, much less of the sugar than the recipie calls for; it calls for half a cup, but that is WAY too much. I used much less than even 1/8 of a cup (1/8 of a cup is a coffee scoop).

My husband and I love this recipe. He isn't a big sweet eater like I am, but he loved this recipe enough to want it twice in a 2-week period. I used all fat free and sugar free and even Splenda in the crust. Works well with strawberry jello as well as cranberry jello.
