I absolutely loved this recipe! I made it with raspberries instead of cranberries and it was delicious! The entire family loved it. It was moist and the berry juice added great flavor - will make it again!

I just did one layer of bread due to the reviews and it did not turn out mushy. I used frozen blueberries b/c I already had them. One tip - don't put the syrup on until you are ready to serve. I put mine on too early and that did make it mushy.

I'm rating this recipe a two. This recipe was good, but was not very much different from regular french toast. So it is a lot of work (and a lot of extra calories) for the same old thing. If you want to try something different; try making just the syrup and using that for your french toast. If you do make the syrup I would suggest making it the night before and leaving it in the refrigerator overnight so the flavors combine more.

Has a good taste but I don't like how the bottom stays soggy.

Very tasty. I used strawberries instead of cranberries. I prepared the night before and then put it in the oven first thing in the morning and made the syrup and eggs while waiting. I ended up cutting more fresh strawberries to go on the side, I think next time I'll leave out the berries while baking. They got a little hard. The bread was firm and the syrup delicious.

I made this recipe for a baby shower last week and used peaches instead of cranberries. It was so delicious.

Made mothersday, 05/11/08 I used this recipe for the actual french toast, but I used the custard from the Raspberry French Toast with Custard Sauce recipe instead of the cranberry maple sauce. It was amaxing! Everyone loved it! Good with extra cream cheese, and chunky mix instead of well blended and smooth
