This was the BEST chocolate--really creamy--frosting I have made. Did I mention I've been baking for over 50 years. Wonderful on the chocolate Bday cake for my 6-yr. twin grandson. Because he loves mint, I added mint patties (halved) around the edge of the cake--great contrast. Sidebar: I doubled the recipe for a 9-in layer cake and only had about a cup left over. Since I will be sharing this recipe with all the bakers at the party, there will be lots more people enjoying this great frosting! By the way I never, ever use canned frosting on my cakes, scratch or boxed, because frostings are simple and so very good homemade--especially this one.
