Made this yesterday and it was great for a chilly day. I did add a little basil, oregano, and parsley as well as a small amount of cornstarch and milk to make it a thicker consistency. Didn't have the problems others had with the "dumplings", you just have to make sure the mixture is completely moist before forming the balls.

I give this recipe 5 stars plus more!! it was delicious! I did everything the directions said and my husband and I LOVED it! I did read that a few people were having problems with the dumplings sticking together.... i had the same problem... all i did was ditch the measuring spoons and formed the dumplings into a ball with my hand :) We will be making this again!!!

My family all enjoyed this recipe,my dumplings fell apart also . So the second time around we bought buttermilk biscuits and added them at the end just the same as the recipe says to do ,then it was Superb!

It was way too bland and the dumplings fell apart. If stuffing isn't your thing, then I wouldn't recommend making this one. We threw most of it away.

This recipe is fantastic! I did form the stuffing into balls before putting them into the stew. They stayed together perfectly! Another thing I did was to mix 1/4 cup cornstarch with 6 Tbs milk, to form a thickening agent.I poured it in the last 30 min, before I added the dumplings. I'll be making this many more times!

I am NOT a picky eater by any means but this was terrible. it turned out to be a sloppy runny mess and the dumplings didn't hold together at all. We took one bite and threw the whole thing away. Ended up eating an egg sandwich instead. Def. going to delete from my recipe box.

Great recipe. We thought it more as a soup than what we thought of as Chicken & Dumplings. We accidentally added the entire tub of sour cream & chive spread, and thought it was great.
