We love to celebrate over the holidays, but it’s a challenge to balance party foods with smart choices. That’s why I stick to the tips below. See if they bring the right mix to your parties.

Eat Right: Smart Celebration Strategies

Eat Right: Smart Celebration Strategies
  1. Talk more, eat less. Focus on the conversations around you rather than the food.
  2. Choose your cheese. Find a lower-fat option—such as Kraft 2% Milk Cheddar Cheese or Philadelphia Light Cream Cheese Spread—to top your cracker.
  3. Pick smart dippers. Look for vegetables and Baked with 100% Whole Grain Wheat Thins Crackers. The crackers are low in saturated fat, contain 0 grams trans fat and are an excellent source of whole grain.
  4. Nibble on nuts. Spoon Planters Peanuts or Cashews onto your plate, remembering that a satisfying serving is about 1 ounce or 1⁄4 cup.
  5. Hit the dance floor. Dancing for 30 minutes can burn about 200 calories.
