Who We Are
The GIS organization at Kraft is as varied as Kraft Foods itself, serving the diverse needs of Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance and all the other areas of Krafts business. Our customers require the latest technologies and professional systems expertise to help them reach Krafts aggressive business goals.
Information Systems professionals at Kraft provide the technology and information that help the organization make more timely and strategic decisions, improve business results and more efficiently and effectively manage Krafts work processes.
Members of Krafts IS team concentrate on five specific areas for the business: business-to-business, business-to-customers, supply chain, workflow processes and infrastructure. Our efforts are focused on moving aggressively in the biggest opportunity areas and addressing global opportunities and challenges. We believe that the undisputed leader of the global food and beverage industry should be a leader in this critical business area.
The Global Information Systems Team
GIS is composed of six key areas:
- Account Management - identifying business process improvement opportunities, managing client and global supplier relationships, and providing project oversight.
- Global Delivery Center - managing internal/external staffing mixes to ensure projects are staffed for delivery as well as providing project management for each initiative
- Enterprise programs and Strategy - leading the development of global IS strategies, managing the IS portfolio strategy to ensure alignment to business strategy and directing the center of excellence regarding business practices for systems implementations.
- Technology Architecture - leading the development of Kraft's global IT technology strategy, governing the enterprise systems architecture, researching emerging technologies and managing global technology programs and deployments
- Information Security - providing leadership and governance in the area of security and controls, coordinating compliance and business continuity/disaster recovery efforts, and managing IT audit activities.
- IS Operations and Business to Business (B2B) - providing B2B services, end-to-end support of business system's and the technology infrastructure, and representing Kraft to industry standards groups
Moves across these areas are possible -- and encourages -- at every level, enabling Kraft's IS professionals the opportunity to establish a track record of varied experiences which will enrich their careers.
What Its Like to Work in Information Systems at Kraft
Most Information Systems professionals are assigned to our Global Delivery Center, where they work to deliver application solutions that meet a function's systems requirements. In the GDC, you'll help develop client operating procedures and participate in designing, testing and implementing new systems. While you develop your professional skills you'll learn about the business functions and their associated information systems.
Are You Eager for a Career in Information Systems?
Generally, people join Information Systems soon after earning a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Many have gained some business experience while attending school, perhaps working as an intern for Kraft or another large organization.
Our expectations are high. Were looking for college graduates with technical training as well as a strong sense of initiative and a drive for results. We want professionals who are self-starters and have the motivation and direction to work independently as well as in a team-based environment. And we want people who are comfortable interacting with a variety of people at all levels of the Kraft organization as well as outside vendors.
For those professionals who meet our standards, we offer an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in an environment committed to your success. We encourage IS professionals to seek out experiences that will enrich them professionally and keep them challenged. We want them to gain experience in different parts of our organization, to learn new technologies and to develop their consulting skills and leadership abilities. Whether your talents are in hardware or software, supervisory or technical roles, defining problems or working toward solutions, at Kraft you'll find plenty of options and opportunities. How you pursue them is up to you.
If youre eager for the opportunity to develop technical solutions to real-life business applications, then you should consider Information Services at Kraft Foods.
