Sales Representative
I love being a Sales Representative for Kraft. It's a great company, and the opportunities are endless. I haven't checked out every single competitor, but I have compared us to a lot of them, and we're hard to beat. There's no other sales force as good as Kraft's.
First of all, we direct sell. Other food companies use brokers to sell their products. And brokers are handling products from all sorts of companies. It's impossible for them to know as much about what they're selling as we know about Kraft. We know our products - all of them.
Secondly, we're selling Kraft. That means quality. I wouldn't be comfortable selling a product I don't believe in. There's no satisfaction in that. I believe in Kraft products. I like selling Kraft products.
On a typical day I might visit two or three stores. I discuss merchandising opportunities with the buyers and answer any questions they might have about new products. Then I check the departments, including shelving and displays. I might also work on building a new display for an upcoming promotion.
During my career in sales, I've learned a lot at every level of the organization. The most important thing I've learned, though, is that your relationship with your customers is the key part of sales. You need to develop a good rapport with your customers and then make sure that you always follow through on what you say. That's what builds a relationship. And that is what Kraft sales is all about.
Career opportunities at Kraft are tremendous. You can set your own goals, and the company will support you. There are so many places to move - within the sales group or in other parts of the company. Having worked in sales, I feel prepared for a number of different moves within the organization. I know Kraft's business from many different perspectives. And there is no question that I know my entire product line! That's another advantage of Kraft's sales force. We sell more products than any other retailer's sales force
