Who We Are
Kraft's Global Procurement team is made up of talented supply chain professionals who are responsible for buying anything that Kraft uses to manufacture and sell our products worldwide. While this includes the ingredients, packaging and commodities we use directly in our food products themselves; we also purchase anything else Kraft needs to operate its businesses. Examples of these additional indirect goods and services may include: Information Technology and temporary contract services, advertising and media, travel, equipment used to manufacture and package products, the parts needed to maintain or repair this equipment, or the transportation needed to ship our products around the world.
At Kraft, Global Procurement is a strategic business partner, helping to drive value and productivity through the entire supply chain. We are organized around buying groups - Commodities, Raw Materials & Packaging, External Manufacturing, and Indirect Materials and Services - either Commercial or Manufacturing. This enables us to leverage our focus and build organizational expertise within a category.
Our main North American locations are in Northfield, IL; Glenview, IL; Madison, WI; Tarrytown, NY and East Hanover, NY. We also have some buyers located in field manufacturing sites.
The Global Procurement Team
A new member of the Global Procurement team typically starts as a Buyer I. From the beginning, you will have responsibility for a specific product category; purchasing items at the best price value, developing an understanding of the category, managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations, supporting internal stakeholders and learning the Kraft Procurement systems and tools.
It doesn't matter which buying group you are in - teamwork is essential. The process of selecting suppliers, sending out bids, conducting negotiations, executing contracts and managing supplier and stakeholder relationships is complex and cannot be accomplished alone. You will work with a cross-functional team made up of finance, graphic design, research and development, materials management, legal, marketing and many others to make decisions and execute projects. As a member of a global organization, you will also have the opportunity to work with suppliers and other Kraft employees from across the globe.
We're looking for individuals with undergraduate and graduate degrees in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Finance and other business areas that enjoy the challenge of applying their expertise in a consumer products goods business. To succeed in Procurement, you need to have good people skills, be able to work in a team environment, be focused and innovative, with a knack for handling details or broad concepts with equal ability. We need Procurement professionals who are comfortable working with people from different countries and cultures and have a global perspective.
A career in Kraft Global Procurement provides the opportunity for incredible career growth and development. On-the job experiences, short-term project assignments and a full range of training courses will enhance your skills and technical expertise. You will be exposed to the entire supply chain and acquire a "big picture" understanding of Kraft's businesses. As your functional expertise and your ability to manage teams grow, so will your opportunities to broaden your Procurement skills and assume greater responsibility. You supply the willingness to learn and the drive for results; Kraft will supply the tools, the freedom, and the support to help you achieve your goals!
If you are eager to become a member of a world-class Procurement organization - then you should consider Kraft Global Procurement.
