Color 101

[Color 101]

Color theory never tasted so good. It’s easy to make a color wheel with Cherry, Lemon and Berry Blue JELL-O Gelatin. Just mix them with water as directed on the package. Red, yellow and blue are primary colors, so you can mix different combinations to make every color in the rainbow.

Paint with Jell-O Gelatin? Sounds pretty weird, but it’s deliciously artistic.

  1. Place 1 tablespoon JELL-O Gelatin in a small glass bowl or small sturdy paper cup. Use different cups for different colors.
  2. Stir in 3 tablespoons boiling water making sure to dissolve JELL-O Gelatin completely or you’ll get little lumps on your painting. Let cool then use within 30 minutes, so it doesn’t start to set.

Now you're ready to paint. Once you’ve finished, leave your painting on a flat spot to dry. Paintings will take a couple of hours to dry, and depending on the paper used, may be a little sticky even when dry.
